Experiential Learning
We are committed to the holistic development of our students to ensure superior outcomes and strong employability prospects. The teaching methodology at NAFDI comprises classroom sessions, Master class, case studies, practical training, group work and discussions. The approach is to have the right balance of theory, practice and experience. The “real world relevance” is vital throughout the programme.

Classroom Sessions
Our highly experienced core team, along with visiting faculty, deliver specially designed programs that enrich students with not just academic knowledge but offer them a global perspective as well.

Master Classs
NAFDI’s Master Classes intend to keep students aware of the current world of design and interiors. Guest speakers from various areas of the design industry share their knowledge and help students form ideas and insights about the industry. International Guest Speakers deliver lectures as a part of our international outreach programme.

Workshops
To keep our students updated with the current trends and advancements in the health & nutrition industry, we frequently organize uniquely designed workshops that focus on industry-oriented themes shortlisted by our team of experts.

Assignments and Projects
Assignments and projects are a part of our curricula. These provide our students with ample opportunities to meet, interact and build relations with popular and experienced individuals in the Design Industry, under the able guidance of our dedicated faculty.

Case Studies
Our curriculum includes case studies in order to highlight various practical and situational issues. The brainstorming and discussions help streamline students’ thought processes and sharpen their analytical abilities by exploring, identifying and solving issues to achieve design excellence

Simulated Sessions
We have developed an exceptional methodology that helps replicate the process of organizing and managing a project in real-time. Students are encouraged to formulate, design and present their prototypes in the classroom. This exercise gives them an opportunity to walk through minute aspects of executing interior design projects.

Field Trips and Study Tours
Apart from gaining an analytical approach and recording personal experiences of the built environment through study and documentation, students learn through teamwork and exchange-based learning

Professional Competencies
Career readiness is the attainment and demonstration of requisite competencies that broadly prepare graduates for a successful transition into the workplace.
We have a special program to improve communication, leadership, creativity and problem solving skills, professionalism, interpersonal skills of every student. These skills and etiquettes enhance their personal productivity and give them a competitive advantage in the global marketplace.

Community Service
We encourage our students to participate in various community related programs wherein they can volunteer to offer their services directly or through NGOs. This enables them to engage better with society and understand the finer nuances of the service industry.
With our philosophies centred to contributing to the good of the society, through community projects driven by students, we reach out to the society through tie ups with municipal corporations, healthcare providers and other organizations as our collaborative effort. The students would work on inclusive and development projects with a mission to include and educate communities, nearby localities and gaothans about the importance of design and preservation of the environment

In-House events
Apart from academics, we also put extra emphasis on extracurricular activities. We regularly conduct events like Fair, Cultural Day, Youth Festivals etc.
NAFDI’s in-house festival AVANI is a student interactive platform aimed at establishing a community engagement and connection with today’s fast changing world. As a part of AVANI, the students work exhibition will be hosted annually with the objective of developing a students’ close community, promote peer learning and profess inclusion through the medium of Design. The exhibition also supports parents’ feedback and interaction. AVANI would include guest lecture series and design competitions.

Entrepreneurial Skills
We believe in equipping students with an innovator’s eye and a founder’s grit–the skills to excel in an innovation economy. To activate the entrepreneurial mindset in students, NAFDI begins by igniting the imagination then takes them through the journey of creating and refining an original business concept.

Digital Learning
The objective of including internships is to promote collaboration with practising designers in meaningful and relevant off-campus learning experiences. Internships introduce students to the professional office and practice. In addition to this students earn academic credit for what they learn in the off-campus experience. The internship goal is to fill the gap between the academic and professional worlds, where the student can see the profession in a fairly non threatening manner and get an overview of the profession in all its details. The internship is a part of NAFDI- School of Fashion Design’s curriculum.
